In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Ted Price, the founder and outgoing president of Insomniac Games, shared insights into a project that never came to fruition—Resistance 4. As Price steps into retirement after an impressive 30-year tenure at the helm of the studio, he reminisced about the pitches that never made it past the drawing board. When asked about his favorite unrealized game concept, Price revealed, "Yeah, I’ll share one. Resistance 4."

Price elaborated that the team at Insomniac was enthusiastic about extending the Resistance series. "We did pitch that one, and it was a wonderful concept, and it just in terms of timing and market opportunity, didn’t work out," he explained. He emphasized the team's passion for expanding the narrative, citing the series' unique alternate history setting, which features an alien invasion by the Chimera in 1951 UK. This backdrop provided a fertile ground for storytelling, allowing for endless possibilities regarding the Chimera's origins and future developments.

The Resistance franchise, developed by Insomniac following their success with the Ratchet and Clank series, comprises three first-person shooter titles released for the PlayStation 3. The series captivated players with its alternate history and compelling narrative before Insomniac shifted focus to other ventures such as Marvel’s Spider-Man and new iterations of Ratchet and Clank.

Earlier this year, Price announced his retirement from Insomniac Games, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and storytelling. He named Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang as the new Co-Studio Heads, entrusting them with the future of the studio.

Insomniac's latest release, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, has recently made its way to PC, showcasing the studio's ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality gaming experiences. Looking ahead, fans can anticipate the arrival of Marvel’s Wolverine, the studio's next ambitious project.
