Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4: A Console Testing Update from Toby Fox
Undertale creator Toby Fox recently provided an update on the console testing phase for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. While significant work remains, progress is reportedly smooth.
Save Transfer Functionality in the Works
Fox, via his Bluesky account, confirmed ongoing console testing, noting fewer bugs but a substantial amount of testing still needed (including the PS5 version). A key development is the integration of save file transfer from the Chapters 1 and 2 demo. This feature, recently made possible by acquiring the necessary technology, will allow players to carry over their saves to the full release. Fox expressed optimism about its successful implementation.
With beta testing progressing well, a release date may be imminent. Fox previously confirmed a 2025 release window for Chapters 3 and 4.
A Glimpse into Future Content: Tenna and a Cryptic Minigame
Fox shared humorous anecdotes about a minigame he's developing. His family and friends interpreted it as a "cry for help" due to the game's delayed release, though some fans speculate this minigame might be for Chapter 5, given Fox's previous statement that Chapters 3 and 4 are content-complete. Deltarune is planned as a seven-chapter series.
Further fueling anticipation, Fox mentioned a character named Tenna, previously only seen in the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign. A friend's comment expressing fondness for Tenna seemingly confirms her inclusion in Chapter 3.
Deltarune, a spiritual successor to Undertale, continues the series' unique gameplay and storytelling, following Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their world-saving adventure.
