Dune: Awakening Enhances Deep Desert & Endgame

Authore: ZoeUpdate:Oct 21,2026

A fresh update arrives for Dune: Awakening, introducing significant endgame improvements for PvE-focused players. Key enhancements include expanded Tier 6 resource farming opportunities and increased Unique drop rates in Deep Desert PvE loot.

Previously, Funcom dramatically expanded Deep Desert's PvE zone from 10% to 50% of the map following player feedback. This came after developers acknowledged endgame issues during an AMA, promising concrete PvP improvements. Some players criticized the endgame environment as problematic, particularly regarding persistent griefing tactics – including Ornithopter collisions that persisted despite patches, and later evolved into thopter-blocking strategies.

Update 1.1.10.00 introduced numerous changes last time, focusing on quality-of-life features rather than endgame concerns. However, the current patch specifically addresses Deep Desert mechanics, endgame progression, and Landsraad systems.

The increased availability of Tier 6 resources represents a major quality-of-life improvement, allowing crafters to gather materials without constant PvP encounters. Meanwhile, PvP enthusiasts gain strategic benefits too – security zone exit delays now extend from 5 to 30 seconds, reducing border camping while empowering territory defenders.

Below you'll find the complete changes...

Dune: Awakening Patch Notes 1.1.15.0

Deep Desert, End Game, and Landsraad

Tier 6 resources now spawn across broader PvE areas in Deep Desert. Unique loot container respawns feature randomized timers for unpredictability. Plastanium components distribute based on location: Imperial Testing Stations, Caves, or Shipwrecks now yield distinct components, while Fallen Shipwrecks and Buried Treasure offer mixed selections. PvE loot gains additional Unique drop possibilities. Spice field populations rebalanced: medium fields increased from 5 to 8, small fields from 22 to 30. PvP security zone exits now require 30-second delays (previously 5 seconds) to deter border ambushes. Landsraad task modifications enable post-completion Kill/Delivery contributions without affecting faction outcomes.

Other:

Stability optimizations implemented. Reduced sandworm terrain-clipping incidents involving vehicles. New PvP zone transition audio alerts added.

FIXES

Resolved Harkonnen recruitment contract soft-lock occurring when exiting Maxim Kazmir's dialogue prematurely. Contract rewards now properly validate inventory space before distribution. Corrected vehicle module highlighting issues post-customization. Fixed pentashield surface placement collisions. Eliminated inventory-based vehicle construction exploits.
