Darrah relata que escaló sus crecientes preocupaciones a los ejecutivos de EA Andrew Wilson y Patrick Söderlund, recibiendo garantías sobre el valor estratégico de Dragon Age. A pesar de las limitadas asignaciones de recursos en 2017, el inesperado regreso del veterano Casey Hudson señaló cambios organizacionales más profundos —una decisión tomada sin consultar a Darrah a pesar de su antigüedad.
