Netflix unveiled the opening trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry anime adaptation, shortly after announcing its April 3, 2025 premiere date. The trailer, set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," showcases dynamic action sequences featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the White Rabbit, packed with nods to the game franchise.
Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his vision, explaining the series' late 90s/early 2000s setting and its accompanying soundtrack, which he believes perfectly captures the era's vibe. Beyond Limp Bizkit, the show will incorporate other period-appropriate music, along with a synthwave remix of the game's soundtrack by Power Glove.
Shankar hinted at a multi-season arc, suggesting future seasons will adopt distinct visual styles and soundtracks to mirror the diverse nature of the Devil May Cry games.
While plot specifics remain under wraps, the first season, comprising eight episodes, is anticipated to adapt elements from the Devil May Cry 3 manga, Code 1: Dante. This arc centers on a young Dante investigating a child's disappearance, forcing him to confront his father Sparda's demonic legacy and his own family history.
