Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 Stress Test Underway: A Massive Update on the Horizon
Larian Studios has initiated a stress test for the upcoming, substantial Patch 8 for Baldur's Gate 3. This pre-release test aims to identify and resolve potential issues before the official launch.

Stress Test Update 1 Addresses Key Bugs
A first update to the stress test build is now available, addressing various bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. Fixes include ensuring Gale's correct interaction with magical items and resolving issues with container contents persisting after destruction. Steam Deck users will also find improved screenshot functionality in Photo Mode. Other improvements include enhanced pose responsiveness, refined cross-play functionality, and updated tooltip values for Booming Blade. For a detailed changelog, consult the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.

Patch 8: A Feature-Packed Finale
Considered one of the final major updates before Larian concludes their work on Faerûn, Patch 8 promises extensive new content. Key additions include platform cross-play, over twelve new subclasses (such as the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), and the highly anticipated Photo Mode.
Unleash Your Inner Photographer with Photo Mode
A dedicated video provides an in-depth look at the highly customizable Photo Mode. Accessible almost anywhere, this feature allows players to meticulously pose characters, both in and out of combat, even incorporating additional elements into the scene. A free-moving camera ensures the perfect shot. Post-processing effects, stickers, and frames add further creative possibilities. While pose manipulation is restricted during dialogues and cutscenes, post-processing effects remain available. Larian plans to release further tutorials to maximize players' creative potential.
Only those participating in the stress test can currently access this update. The full, polished Patch 8 will be released to all players at a later date.
