Where To Get Pristine Screws In NieR: Automata

Pristine Screws are dropped by Goliath-Bipeds, the towering machines you'll encounter throughout the game that aren't classified as bosses. However, these machines drop various types of screws, with Pristine Screws being the rarest. The likelihood of obtaining a Pristine Screw increases with the level of the Goliath-Biped, making it nearly impossible to acquire early in the game.

A reliable spot to find Goliath-Bipeds is the pit where you first battle Adam. This location is also excellent for farming Machine Arms. The Goliath-Bipeds here are slightly above level 30, which unfortunately means a lower drop rate for Pristine Screws. On the bright side, this area sees a constant stream of enemy spawns, allowing you to farm Goliath-Bipeds relatively quickly despite the lower drop rate.

Another option is to fast-travel to the Forest Castle: Front access point during your third playthrough. Here, you'll encounter two level 49 Goliath-Bipeds guarding the entrance. These higher-level machines offer a better chance at dropping Pristine Screws, though they don't respawn immediately. To keep farming, you'll need to fast-travel away and return to battle them repeatedly.

Both farming methods can be enhanced with a drop-rate up plug-in chip to slightly improve your chances of obtaining Pristine Screws.
