NetEase Games has unveiled a comprehensive developer update for Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, titled "Eternal Night Falls." This exciting new season will introduce Dracula as the main villain, thrilling fans with the addition of The Fantastic Four to the game's roster. The season is set to launch on January 10 at 1 AM PST, and the anticipation among players is palpable.

Alongside the new villain and heroes, Season 1 will bring three new maps and a new game mode called Doom Match. The battle pass for this season will cost 990 Lattice, equivalent to $10, and will feature 10 skins. As players progress through the battle pass, they will earn 600 Lattice and 600 Units. The Fantastic Four will join the fray in stages, with Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman available at the season's start, followed by Human Torch and The Thing six to seven weeks later.

In their latest Dev Vision video, NetEase Games detailed the balancing changes coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 1. Hela and Hawkeye, who have been dominant in Season 0 and frequently banned in higher ranks, will receive nerfs to balance their power. Conversely, the developers aim to enhance the performance of mobility-based Vanguards like Captain America and Venom, giving them a boost to better compete in the fast-paced battles.

Further balancing adjustments will affect other characters as well. Wolverine and Storm are set to receive buffs, encouraging players to explore new strategies with these iconic mutants. There have been calls from the community for significant changes to Wolverine, including suggestions to transform him into a Vanguard. Cloak and Dagger will also see improvements, aiming to increase their versatility across different team compositions. Additionally, NetEase Games will address issues with Jeff the Land Shark, particularly concerning the misalignment between his early warning signals and his ultimate's hit box. While some players feel Jeff's ultimate is overpowered, no major changes have been announced yet.

NetEase Games did not provide details on the Seasonal Bonus feature in their latest update, leaving fans to speculate on potential adjustments. The feature has sparked debate among the community, with many believing that removing it could improve the game's overall balance. Despite this, Season 1 of Marvel Rivals promises a wealth of new content and updates, and the excitement among players is evident as they eagerly await the season's launch.
