Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 New Subclasses:
Bard - College of Glamour
As a College of Glamour Bard, you'll wield the power to both heal allies and command enemies. With Mantle of Inspiration, you can grant your allies 5 temporary hit points, and if an enemy attacks while it's active, they'll be Charmed. Utilize Mantle of Majesty to control Charmed enemies, making them flee, move closer, freeze, drop to the ground, or disarm themselves.
Barbarian - Path of Giants
Choosing the Path of Giants grants your Barbarian enhanced strength and size through Giant’s Rage, increasing damage with Throw attacks and your carry capacity, making it easier to move allies or foes.
Cleric - Death Domain
As a Death Domain Cleric, you'll harness dark powers with necrotic damage spells and three new necromancy cantrips, including Toll The Dead, which scales damage based on the target's condition. Additionally, you can now explode nearby corpses to damage enemies.
Druid - Circle of Stars
Circle of Stars Druids draw power from the stars, transforming into one of three Starry Forms: the Archer, Chalice, and Dragon. Each form enhances different aspects of gameplay, from dealing radiant damage to healing and improving constitution rolls.
Paladin - Oath of the Crown
Sworn to uphold the law, Oath of the Crown Paladins can guide allies in battle with Righteous Clarity, taunt enemies with strategic interrupts, and protect their party with Divine Allegiance, absorbing damage and restoring health.
Fighter - Arcane Archer
The Arcane Archer combines magic and marksmanship, featuring new shooting animations and abilities like banishing foes to the Feywild or inflicting Psychic damage that may blind enemies.
Monk - Drunken Master
As a Drunken Master Monk, you can drink alcohol from your inventory or around the Sword Coast to recover Ki. Use Intoxicating Strike to share the bottle with enemies, boosting your Armor Class and hit chance against drunk targets, and apply Sobering Realisation to deal physical and Psychic damage.
Ranger - Swarmkeeper
Swarmkeeper Rangers can summon three deadly swarms: Cloud of Jellyfish for lightning damage, Flurry of Moths for Psychic damage and potential blindness, and Legion of Bees for piercing damage and knockback. Each swarm also offers teleportation capabilities.
Rogue - Swashbuckler
Swashbuckler Rogues can blind enemies with sand, disarm them by flicking a weapon, and use Fancy Footwork to avoid opportunity attacks during melee combat.
Sorcerer - Shadow Magic
Shadow Magic Sorcerers thrive in darkness with Superior Darkvision and the ability to Shadow Walk between dim light or darkness. Summon the Hound of Ill Omen to harass foes and use Strength of the Grave to stay in the fight, perfect for Honour Mode runs.
Warlock - Hexblade
Hexblade Warlocks forge a pact with a Shadowfell entity, cursing enemies and raising their spirits as summons for ten turns. These summons deal necrotic damage and heal the Warlock by stealing enemy souls.
Wizard - Bladesinging
Bladesinging Wizards merge swordplay with spellcasting, featuring new animations and the Bladesong ability for enhanced speed, agility, focus, and Constitution saving throw bonuses.

Patch 8 marks the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, concluding a remarkable journey for Larian Studios. The game, launched to critical acclaim and commercial success in 2023, has continued to thrive into 2025.
Larian surprised the gaming community by announcing their departure from Baldur's Gate 3 and the Dungeons & Dragons universe to focus on a new, undisclosed project, initiating a media blackout to concentrate on development.
Meanwhile, Hasbro, the owner of D&D, has hinted at plans to continue the Baldur's Gate series. During the Game Developers Conference, Dan Ayoub, SVP of digital games at Hasbro, expressed interest in the franchise's future. He mentioned that, with Larian moving on, Hasbro has "a lot of people very interested in Baldur's Gate," and they are working on plans that will be revealed soon.
Ayoub did not specify if these plans involve a new Baldur's Gate game or a crossover similar to previous collaborations, such as with Magic: The Gathering. He expressed a desire for a Baldur's Gate 4 but emphasized a measured approach to its development, indicating that it would take time.
To celebrate the launch of Patch 8, Larian will host a Twitch livestream featuring senior systems designer Ross Stephens, who will discuss the update's changes and additions.
