Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”

Remedy Entertainment aims to be a leading force in the gaming industry, drawing inspiration from Naughty Dog, particularly the Uncharted series. Kyle Rowley, director of Alan Wake 2, expressed the studio's ambition to become "the European equivalent of Naughty Dog" in a Behind The Voice podcast interview.

This influence is clearly seen in the cinematic approach of Alan Wake 2, celebrated for its stunning visuals and gripping narrative. The game's success has cemented Remedy's status as a top European studio.

Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (a highly acclaimed franchise), serves as a benchmark.

Alan Wake 2, released over a year ago, continues to receive updates enhancing gameplay across all platforms. These improvements include a significant optimization for the PS5 Pro, introducing a "Balanced" graphics option that combines the strengths of the Performance and Quality modes.

The update also refines graphic settings for smoother frame rates and clearer visuals, while addressing minor bugs impacting gameplay, especially within the Lake House expansion.
