The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system needed significant improvement.

In a recent interview, The Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged this criticism. He highlighted gameplay and monster hunting as areas requiring substantial upgrades. His words: "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience."

Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the impactful and powerful nature of monster battles, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.

A significant combat overhaul is anticipated in The Witcher 4. Reassuringly, CD Projekt Red recognizes the shortcomings of previous Witcher games' combat and is addressing them directly. These improvements will likely carry over to future installments, especially given Ciri's central role in the planned new trilogy.

Interestingly, developers also intend to feature Triss's wedding. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest, originally planned for Novigrad, saw Geralt aiding Triss and Castello with wedding preparations—a task involving monster extermination, procuring alcohol, and choosing a wedding gift.
