Assassin's Creed Shadows: No Early Access, Price Drop for Collector's Edition

Ubisoft confirmed the cancellation of Assassin's Creed Shadows' early access via a Discord Q&A. This follows the game's delay to February 14, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The decision, according to Insider Gaming, stems from challenges in maintaining historical accuracy and cultural representation. This also contributed to the release date postponement, along with the need for further polish.

To compensate, Ubisoft reduced the price of the Assassin's Creed Shadows Collector's Edition from $280 to $230. The edition still includes the artbook, steelbook, figurine, and other previously announced items. Rumors persist about a potential co-op mode featuring Naoe and Yasuke, but this remains unconfirmed.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Team Dissolved Despite Positive Reception

The team at Ubisoft Montpellier responsible for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has been dissolved. While the game received positive reviews, French outlet Origami reports that unmet sales expectations led to this decision. Ubisoft hasn't released sales figures but acknowledged disappointment with the game's performance.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Team Disbanded

Senior producer Abdelhak Elguess stated that the team is proud of their work and committed to the game's long-term success. The post-launch roadmap is complete, including three free updates and a DLC. Future plans include a Mac release ("by this winter") and a focus on bringing the game to a wider audience on various platforms. Ubisoft also affirmed its commitment to future Prince of Persia projects. Most team members have transitioned to other projects within Ubisoft.
