This guide helps you befriend the mysterious Dwarf in Stardew Valley. He's a unique character, requiring you to learn Dwarvish to build a relationship.
Meeting the Dwarf
Locate a large boulder to the right of the mine entrance on the first floor. Break it with a copper pickaxe or bomb. The Dwarf's shop is just beyond.
Learning Dwarvish
The Dwarf doesn't speak common tongue. To communicate, you must donate all four Dwarf Scrolls to the museum. Gunther will then reward you with a Dwarvish translation guide.
Gifting the Dwarf
Friendship is built through gifts (up to two per week). His birthday is Summer 22nd (gifts given then are worth 8x the points).
Loved Gifts (+80 Friendship Points):
- Gemstones: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Jade, Ruby, Topaz, Emerald
- Lemon Stone
- Omni Geode
- Lava Eel
- All universally loved gifts
Liked Gifts (+45 Friendship Points):
- All universally liked gifts
- All Artifacts
- Cave Carrot
- Quartz
Disliked/Hated Gifts (-Friendship Points): Avoid these!
- Mushrooms and other foraged items
- All universally hated gifts (except Artifacts)
Movie Theater Visits
Once the Movie Theater is built, invite the Dwarf. He loves all movies but has snack preferences:
- Loves: Stardrop Sorbet, Rock Candy
- Likes: Cotton Candy, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jawbreaker, Salmon Burger, Sour Slimes, Star Cookie
Remember, befriending the Dwarf takes time and effort, but the unique experience is rewarding!
