SoMoGa Releases Updated 16-Bit JRPG Vay for Android

SoMoGa Inc. has just released an updated version of the classic 16-bit RPG, Vay, now available on Android, iOS, and Steam. This beloved game, which first hit the scene in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD, has been given a fresh new look, an enhanced user interface, and now includes controller support. Initially developed by Hertz and localized for the US market by Working Designs, SoMoGa kept the game's legacy alive with an iOS re-release in 2008.

What's New in Revamped Vay?

The revamped Vay brings a host of exciting updates to the table. Players will encounter over 100 enemies and face off against a dozen epic bosses while exploring more than 90 diverse areas packed with adventure. One of the standout features is the user-selectable difficulty levels, allowing players to tailor their gaming experience to their skill level.

Other enhancements include an auto-save feature for seamless gameplay, and support for Bluetooth controllers, giving you the freedom to play your way. As you progress, you can purchase new gear and items, and watch your characters level up, learning new spells along the way. Additionally, an AI system enables characters to fight autonomously, adding depth to the combat mechanics.

What's The Story?

Set in a distant galaxy, Vay's narrative unfolds a millennium after a devastating interstellar war. A colossal machine with a faulty guidance system crashes onto the planet Vay, a world with rudimentary technology. Programmed for destruction, this machine unleashes chaos, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

In Vay, you embark on a gripping quest to rescue your kidnapped wife and potentially save the entire world. The story kicks off on your wedding day when your peaceful kingdom comes under attack, and your bride is abducted. Your journey takes you across the globe to stop the menacing war machines.

Vay's storyline is compelling from the get-go, weaving nostalgia with fresh elements while staying true to its JRPG roots. Characters gain experience and gold through random encounters, and the game features nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes, available with both English and Japanese audio.

Don't miss out on the revamped Vay, available now as a premium title on the Google Play Store for $5.99. And while you're there, why not check out our other news? Discover the latest with the Loving Reveries Update in Tears of Themis, where you can unlock love and goodies.
