Get ready, racing fans! Kunos Simulazioni Studios is bringing Assetto Corsa EVO to Steam Early Access on January 16, 2025, marking a significant day for racing simulation enthusiasts.
The initial release will feature a robust selection of 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in Early Access, expect highly refined physics, precise handling, and remarkably realistic car behavior.
A standout feature will be the free-roam mode, allowing for unconstrained exploration. A substantial summer 2025 update is planned, introducing roads surrounding the legendary Nürburgring. This fully laser-scanned open world will span a vast 1600 square kilometers, with gradual expansion promised.
Assetto Corsa EVO boldly positions itself as a top-tier car simulator, aiming to rival established giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. This ambition is backed by claims of photorealistic visuals and cutting-edge physics.
The launch version is projected to include 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with further additions planned through future free updates. Expect meticulously recreated track conditions, including tire wear and wet surfaces, enhanced by animated spectators for an immersive experience.
Developers have also refined vehicle dynamics, suspension damping, and shock absorption. The Driving Academy mode, a key single-player component in Early Access, will challenge players to complete specified tracks within time limits, ultimately granting access to high-performance vehicles upon license acquisition. The academy will utilize the aforementioned tracks.
