Ninja Gaiden 2 Black: New Game+ & More

Authore: ClaireUpdate:Mar 14,2025

Team Ninja has released a significant update (version 1.0.7.0) for Ninja Gaiden Master Collection’s Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, delivering highly anticipated features and improvements based on player feedback. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), this patch introduces New Game Plus, Photo Mode, and various quality-of-life enhancements.

New Game Plus lets players restart the game on any previously completed difficulty, carrying over all acquired weapons and Ninpo. Note that these items will be reset to level 1, and you can't immediately jump to a higher difficulty.

A welcome addition is the option to hide the projectile weapon displayed on Ryu's back. This toggle is conveniently located in the Options > Game Settings menu.

Balance adjustments include HP reductions for enemies in Chapters 8 and 11, increased enemy counts in Chapters 13 and 14, and a damage boost for some of Ayane's attacks.

Numerous bug fixes are also included, addressing issues related to high-performance PCs, game-breaking bugs in specific chapters, and more. See the full patch notes below for details.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, initially a surprise release during the January Xbox Developer Direct, is an Unreal Engine 5 enhanced version of the classic action game. This update further refines the experience with improved graphics, additional playable characters (Ayane), and enhanced battle mechanics. IGN's 8/10 review praised the game as a "gorgeous improvement" over Sigma 2, remaining an excellent action title despite some adjustments to enemy health and numbers.
