Supercell Revives Clash Heroes Concept as New Project R.I.S.E.

Finnish developer Supercell has made a surprising announcement following their decision to shut down the RPG Clash Heroes. Rather than abandoning the concept entirely, they're rebooting it through an innovative new project called Project R.I.S.E.

The Full Story Behind Supercell's Latest Move

Clash Heroes has officially joined Clash Mini in Supercell's discontinued projects list. However, the studio isn't leaving fans empty-handed. Project R.I.S.E. emerges as a spiritual successor - a social action RPG roguelite set in the familiar Clash universe but with significant changes.

The official announcement video features game lead Julien Le Cadre delivering straightforward news: "Clash Heroes is dead. That's the unfortunate reality. The positive update? Project R.I.S.E. maintains the Clash DNA while evolving into a multiplayer-centric action RPG experience."

Project R.I.S.E. shares thematic elements with its predecessor but represents a complete redesign. The new gameplay focuses on cooperative multiplayer as teams of three explore The Tower - a procedurally generated environment where each session presents unique challenges across different floors.

What Makes Project R.I.S.E. Different?

This revival transforms the original single-player dungeon crawling into a dynamic social experience. Players will coordinate with teammates while selecting from diverse characters, creating strategic combinations for their ascent through The Tower's ever-changing layouts.

Currently in pre-alpha development, Supercell will conduct initial playtesting in early July 2024. Interested players can register through the official website for potential early access opportunities.
