Marvel's "Nova," "Strange Academy," "Terror, Inc." on Hold

Marvel Television has reportedly placed three shows – Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. – on hold. Sources at Deadline indicate these projects lacked official greenlights and their future remains uncertain, though not definitively cancelled. Marvel's strategic shift in priorities is the cited reason.

This strategic change coincides with Marvel Studios' upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming and TV at Marvel Studios, recently announced explorations into reuniting the street-level heroes of The Defenders (Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist).

Marvel Studios is currently prioritizing the development of numerous shows, exercising caution in selecting future projects, as Winderbaum stated to Screen Rant last year: "We’re really being careful about what we choose to do next.”

The Nova series' pause is particularly noteworthy, especially considering Ed Bernero's recent involvement as writer and showrunner, just two months prior to this announcement. For more details on Nova, refer to IGN's comprehensive article.

Strange Academy, anticipated to focus on the magic school founded by Doctor Strange with Wong as headmaster, is also affected. Information regarding Terror, Inc. remains scarce.

Confirmed Marvel TV release dates include: Daredevil: Born Again (March 4th, Disney+), Ironheart (June 24th, Disney+), and Wonder Man (December, Disney+). Following Captain America: Brave New World, three MCU films are scheduled for release this year: Thunderbolts (May) and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
