Marvel Snap's US Shutdown: A ByteDance Fallout?

The recent US ban of Marvel Snap isn't an isolated incident. It coincides with the high-profile ban of TikTok, and the two are directly linked. Several other apps, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and CapCut, have also been removed from US app stores. The common denominator? All are owned by ByteDance, TikTok's parent company.

ByteDance is currently facing intense scrutiny from US lawmakers regarding national security and data privacy concerns. The preemptive removal of these apps appears to be a strategic move to mitigate potential further action.

While there's speculation of a possible, albeit temporary, TikTok return, the fate of Marvel Snap and other ByteDance properties remains uncertain. A complete and permanent ban would represent a significant blow to these companies, given the substantial US player base and revenue generated within the American market.

For now, the future of Marvel Snap in the US is unclear. Players outside the US can continue to enjoy the game, readily available on the Google Play Store. We'll keep you updated as more information emerges.
