Marvel Rivals' Invisible Woman Exposes Potential Bot Problem

The newly released Invisible Woman in Marvel Rivals is unexpectedly revealing a potential problem plaguing the game: bots. For weeks, players have suspected developer NetEase Games of employing low-level AI opponents to maintain player engagement. The introduction of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman in Season 1 has only intensified this debate.

A Reddit user, barky1616, shared a video showcasing an unusual tactic using Invisible Woman's invisibility. The video shows Sue Storm turning invisible and inexplicably blocking the path of several enemy players simply by standing in their way. These opponents don't attempt to circumvent her until she becomes visible again. This peculiar behavior is being cited as further evidence of AI opponents in matches.

The theory is that the AI-controlled enemies fail to recognize the obstruction caused by the invisible hero. While replicating this tactic may yield varied results, the video has sparked significant discussion within the community, ranging from puzzled confusion to concerns about a growing bot problem.

NetEase has yet to confirm or deny the presence of AI opponents in Marvel Rivals matches. IGN has contacted NetEase for comment.

Despite the bot controversy, Season 1's content update is generally well-received. While only half of the Fantastic Four (Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman) are currently playable, The Thing and Human Torch are slated for release soon. Alongside the new characters, players are discussing the recent balance changes, NetEase's actions against mods, and the less-than-serious reception of Reed Richards.
