NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals players: a new hero will be introduced every month and a half as part of their ongoing seasonal updates. This was confirmed by the studio's creative director, Guangyun Chen, in an interview with Metro. Chen outlined the team's ambitious post-launch strategy, stating they aim to release a new playable character every half-season, which translates to approximately every six weeks.

"Each season, we will introduce new seasonal stories, maps, and heroes. We're dividing each season into two halves," Chen explained. "A season lasts three months, and we will launch a new hero for each half. Our goal is to continuously enhance the game experience and keep our community engaged and excited."

As Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls progresses, fans have already seen the introduction of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, with The Thing and the Human Torch set to join the roster in the second half. These iconic characters from the Marvel universe set a high bar, and maintaining this momentum will be a significant challenge for the developers.

The game launched with an impressive lineup of heroes, including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm, among others. There's speculation about future additions, with Blade rumored for Season 2, and fans eagerly awaiting the potential inclusion of characters like Daredevil, Deadpool, and more from the X-Men universe. While it's not clear how NetEase will continue to expand the roster, their current success suggests they are committed to keeping the game fresh and engaging.

Alongside new heroes, Marvel Rivals Season 1 also brought a series of balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more updates promised in the future.
