Machine Arm Farming in NieR: Automata

This guide details how to obtain Machine Arms in NieR: Automata, a rare crafting material crucial for weapon and pod upgrades. Early acquisition can significantly boost your character's strength.

Quick Links

Obtaining Machine Arms early can be challenging. While they drop from defeated small machines, the drop rate increases with enemy level, making early acquisition difficult.

Farming Machine Arms

The most efficient early-game farming location is the pit where you first fight Adam after Chapter 4. Access this area via the Desert: Housing Complex fast travel point and proceed deeper into the ruins. This pit continuously respawns small machines, providing a consistent, albeit low-drop-rate, source of Machine Arms. This location is also beneficial for farming Titanium Alloy. While a Drop Rate Plug-In Chip can slightly improve yields, the sheer number of respawning enemies makes this the optimal early-game strategy.
