Konosuba: Fantastic Days Shuts Down, Offline Version Considered

KonoSuba: Fantastic Days to Conclude Service on January 30th, 2025

The popular mobile RPG, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, developed by Sesisoft, will be ending its service on January 30th, 2025, concluding a nearly five-year run. Both the global and Japanese servers will shut down simultaneously. However, the developers are planning a limited offline version, allowing players to revisit the main storyline, key quests, and significant events. Further details regarding this offline version are yet to be released.

In-App Purchases and Refunds

All in-app purchases have been disabled since October 31st, 2024. Official channels will close on February 28th, 2025. Players can still utilize existing Quartz and in-game items until the service ends. Refunds for unused Quartz or unclaimed purchases from early 2024 are available until January 30th, 2025, for eligible players.

A Look Back at KonoSuba: Fantastic Days

Initially launched in Japan in February 2020 and globally in August 2021, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days was the first mobile game adaptation of the KonoSuba franchise. The game featured an engaging narrative set in a world under threat from the Devil King's army, complemented by appealing visuals and a visual novel-style story mode.

Despite its positive aspects, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days ultimately shares the fate of many gacha RPGs, succumbing to factors such as declining player interest and the high costs associated with maintaining high production values. This mirrors a trend seen in the mobile gaming industry this year, with numerous anime-based games facing closure.

If you haven't already experienced KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, you have a few months remaining to do so before the servers go offline. The game is available on the Google Play Store.
