Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 Arrives January 28th

Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. Season 1, which began November 14th, will have run for a substantial 75 days—one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.

While specifics regarding Season 2's content remain under wraps, anticipation is high. Treyarch has hinted at further classic map remakes, building on the success of Season 1's reintroduction of fan favorites like Nuketown and Hacienda. A dedicated blog post is expected soon to detail the upcoming additions.

Black Ops 6, a record-breaking success for Treyarch and Activision, experienced a recent player dip. This downturn is attributed to ongoing issues with cheating in Ranked Play and persistent server problems. The launch of Season 2 is widely seen as a crucial opportunity to revitalize the game and address these concerns.

Season 2 Launch Date Confirmed

Treyarch's recent January 9th patch notes, while addressing Zombie mode fixes, subtly revealed the Season 2 launch date of January 28th. While the specifics are yet to be fully unveiled, the studio promises a comprehensive blog post detailing the new season's features in the coming days.

Season 1 delivered a substantial content update, introducing new multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events. Warzone players also benefited from the integration with Black Ops 6, gaining a new movement system, weapons, gameplay updates, and the Area-99 Resurgence map.

More Classic Maps on the Horizon?

While not confirmed, Treyarch has previously suggested the possibility of more classic map remasters in future seasons. Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie indicated in a December interview that no Black Ops map is excluded from consideration, though original content remains a priority.
