Mastering Dual Outfit Effects in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, while focused on action, offers extensive weapon and outfit customization. This guide details how to combine the benefits of multiple outfits, a feature unavailable in the original game.
Remastered Version Required
The dual outfit method relies on the Remastered edition's transmog feature, introduced via a recent patch. This allows you to maintain the stats of one outfit while visually wearing another.
Outfit Requirements
This technique has limitations. While your primary outfit can be any you choose, the secondary (for visual appearance only) must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits, found in the Frozen Wilds DLC:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)
Note: Access to the Frozen Wilds DLC is not contingent on completing the main game.
Acquiring Banuk Werak Outfits
Banuk Werak Runner
Reach the Frozen Wilds by defeating the initial machine (adjust difficulty or upgrade gear if needed). Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (blue merchant icon) and purchase the outfit.
Resource | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Chieftain Adept
Complete the "For the Werak" quest (Frozen Wilds' third main quest). Consider lowering difficulty for easier completion. The Adept version is obtainable only in New Game Plus.
Combining Outfit Effects
Equip your desired outfit (the one with the stats you want; enhance stats with Weaves). Then, use the transmog feature to change the appearance to one of the three Banuk Werak outfits.
This method retains your chosen outfit's stats while adding the auto-healing effect of the Banuk Werak outfit. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield-Weaver makes you incredibly resilient.
