Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5's Michael De Santa (Ned Luke) offers fans reassurance about GTA 6's worthiness of the wait, and boldly predicts its first-day sales. Discover his insights and more about GTA 6's anticipated development.
Rockstar Games' Unconventional Approach to GTA 6
GTA 6's Projected $1.3 Billion Day-One Revenue
Ned Luke, the voice actor behind GTA 5's Michael De Santa, confidently predicts GTA 6 will generate $1.3 billion in its first 24 hours. In a recent interview with Fall Damage, Luke expressed his excitement, highlighting Rockstar Games' unpredictable nature and the game's potential to be truly exceptional.
He emphasizes patience, assuring fans, "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He cites GTA 5's $800 million first-day success in 2013 as a benchmark, suggesting GTA 6 will significantly surpass that figure. DFC Intelligence's projections align with this optimism, forecasting over 40 million copies sold and $3.2 billion in revenue within the first year, with $1 billion attributed solely to pre-orders.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?
Luke also shared his perspective on the possibility of GTA 5 characters returning in GTA Online and potentially GTA 6. He notes Michael's absence from GTA Online since its launch, in contrast to Trevor and Franklin's appearances.
Luke hints at Michael's possible inclusion in a speculated final GTA Online DLC or even a direct role in GTA 6. While Steven Ogg (Trevor) previously suggested a "passing the torch" scenario for his character (ScreenRant, January 2025), Luke remains coy: "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not." He underscores Rockstar's tight-lipped nature and the potential consequences of revealing too much. Despite the actors' enthusiasm, official confirmation regarding character appearances remains absent.
GTA 6: Potentially in the Testing Phase
Former Rockstar animator Mike York (via a now-deleted interview with Kiwi Talkz on YouTube, reported by GamesRadar) suggests GTA 6 is likely undergoing internal testing. He emphasizes the game's unique unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it."
York believes the game is in the advanced stages of internal testing, with playable builds likely circulating amongst testers. He anticipates further refinements and additions before release.
Rockstar Games' December 2023 trailer marked the first official acknowledgment of GTA 6. While Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report hinted at a Fall 2025 release, no concrete release date has been officially confirmed. Stay tuned to our Grand Theft Auto 6 page for the latest updates.
