Path of Exile 2 features numerous quests, some less obvious than others. This guide focuses on the five Golden Idols hidden throughout Act 3, which, despite being labeled "Quest Items," function differently than typical quest items. Unlike standard quest items, finding a Golden Idol doesn't add a quest to your log. Instead, these unique items offer a substantial gold reward upon sale.

Locating the Golden Idols

After exploring the Vaal ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment in Act 3 and traveling through a time portal, you'll arrive in Utzaal (The Drowned City in the present), the Vaal civilization at its zenith. Within Utzaal and the connected area, Aggorat, lie the five Golden Idols. They aren't dropped by enemies; instead, they're found on the ground or pedestals, often in side rooms.

Cashing In Your Discoveries

Once you've collected a Golden Idol, return to the Ziggurat Encampment and seek out Oswald, located in the northern part of the area. He's the only vendor who will purchase these unique items. The gold payouts are as follows:

Golden Idol: 500 Gold
Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold

Collecting all five Idols nets you a total of 6000 Gold. Since they occupy inventory space and serve only as valuable trade goods, it's advisable to sell them immediately after discovery to maximize your bag space.
