In Freedom Wars Remastered, each Abductor comes with a visible health bar on its torso, inviting players to engage in strategic combat using a diverse array of weapons and items. The game introduces various damage types, each with its unique impact on gameplay. While Light Melee weapons are typically used for severing parts of an Abductor's body, Impact Damage plays a crucial role, adding depth to your combat strategy.
Mastering Impact Damage can significantly accelerate your victories against Abductors. This guide delves into the mechanics of Impact Damage and offers tips on how to leverage it effectively in Freedom Wars Remastered.
What Does Impact Damage Do In Freedom Wars Remastered?
Impact Damage, primarily associated with Heavy Melee and some Ranged Weapons, enhances your normal attack's potency through non-elemental damage. This damage type is quantified by a percentage, but it doesn't directly increase your overall damage output. Instead, it boosts the Abductor's stagger rate. When the stagger meter reaches its threshold—although not visible—the Abductor will stagger, opening a window for you to inflict substantial damage.
This mechanic can be a double-edged sword. Offline, you can prepare and execute a powerful attack during the stagger. However, in online play, it might disrupt your teammates' timing. Additionally, certain Abductors like Ramosa may react uniquely to staggering, moving backward, which could complicate your strategy for landing precise hits or binds.
How To Increase Stagger Damage In Freedom Wars Remastered
To amplify your Stagger Damage, you'll first need to unlock the Weapon Development Facility. Here, you can craft and tailor your gear to enhance your combat effectiveness. The Manufacture Modules option within the facility allows you to create specialized modules using resources like Glassy Carbon, often found in Basic Operations. Once you have the necessary materials, use the Synthesise Modules feature to combine multiple modules of the same type, thereby boosting their potency.
After crafting your Stagger Damage Up Module, attach it to your weapon to significantly increase its Impact Damage. This upgrade is essential for players relying on heavy melee or specific ranged weapons, as it maximizes their ability to stagger enemies. Since Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements will ensure you get the most out of your stagger strategy.
