Elden Ring Console Testing Announced: Nightreign Event Draws Near

FromSoftware's upcoming title will initially only be accessible to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. Registration for the closed beta opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.

Bandai Namco has yet to explain the exclusion of PC players from the beta. However, those selected for console testing will enjoy a first look at the new game prior to its official launch.

Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the narrative of its predecessor, offering a fresh, ominous gameplay experience. While console gamers get early access, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future beta testing opportunities.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute play sessions are too short to accommodate message sending and reading. He explained, "We disabled the messaging feature due to insufficient time for sending or reading messages within the roughly forty-minute sessions."
