This guide explores the revamped PlayStation Plus service and its diverse game library, focusing on horror titles available across its three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. While online play requires at least the Essential tier, horror game enthusiasts will find a richer selection in the Extra and Premium tiers.
The Extra tier boasts a rotating library of hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games, regularly updated with approximately 15 new additions monthly. Premium expands upon this, adding hundreds of classic titles from PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP. This extensive catalog ensures a wide variety of genres, including a strong horror selection.
Update (January 5, 2025): The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium additions lacked new horror titles. Note that Resident Evil 2 will be removed from the service on January 21, 2025. However, Resident Evil 3 remains available. Given this, we've added a section highlighting alternative PS Plus games that might appeal to horror fans.
