New Heroes Join the Fray: Skill Tweaks and Name Changes

Valve's Deadlock, a highly anticipated MOBA shooter, has consistently topped Steam's Most Wishlisted games since its mid-2024 launch. The recent "10-24-2024" update is a major milestone, introducing six playable heroes, currently available only in Hero Sandbox mode.

These new heroes—Calico, Fathom (previously known as Slork), Holliday (also referred to as Astro in some skill descriptions), Magician, Viper, and Wrecker—are not yet featured in casual or ranked PvP matches. While their abilities are implemented, some skills are temporary placeholders, using existing hero abilities as stand-ins. For instance, Magician's ultimate is a copy of Paradox's Paradoxical Swap.

The table below offers a sneak peek at each hero's current role and playstyle:

Hero Description
Calico A nimble, stealthy mid-to-frontline hero, excelling at unseen attacks and evasive maneuvers.
Fathom A short-range assassin specializing in swift, decisive engagements to eliminate key targets.
Holliday A mid-to-long-range DPS/Assassin who utilizes precise headshots and explosives to devastate enemies from afar.
Magician A tactical, long-range DPS capable of manipulating projectiles, teleporting, and swapping positions with allies and enemies.
Viper A mid-to-long-range burst assassin who inflicts damage over time with venomous bullets and can petrify enemy groups.
Wrecker A mid-to-close-range brawler who utilizes troopers and NPCs, transforming them into scrap and projectiles for their abilities.
