Oni Press expands its successful EC Comics reboot with Blood Type, a vampire series debuting this summer. Spinning off from Epitaphs From the Abyss, Blood Type is the first in a planned series of EC Comics spin-offs.
IGN exclusively reveals the cover art for Blood Type #1:

Written by Corinna Bechko (known for Cruel Universe and Green Lantern: Earth One) and illustrated by Andrea Sorrentino (Gideon Falls, Old Man Logan), with colors by Dave Stewart (Hellboy), Blood Type features multiple cover variants by Sorrentino, Miguel Mercado, Albert Monteys, and Naomi Franq.
Oni Press provides this synopsis:
WHEN YOU'RE A VAMPIRE, EVERYBODY SUCKS...SOONER OR LATER! Meet Ada, an immortal vampire whose past catches up with her in an idyllic Caribbean resort. A paradise teeming with wealthy tourists and superstitious locals—a perfect hunting ground for a vamp seeking escape! But Ada's new hunting ground leads her into a deadly game of cat and mouse as a different kind of predator emerges, hungry for power. Who will survive this clash of cunning bloodsuckers, and what will remain?

Bechko describes Blood Type as a "wicked tale" expanding on a character she loves, while Sorrentino highlights horror as his preferred genre, calling the collaboration with EC Comics an honor.
Blood Type #1 releases June 18, 2025. Oni Press will also reprint the original Blood Type short story in the Free Comic Book Day 2025 special, EC Presents: Blood Type #0. Stay tuned for more comic book news, including updates on Marvel and DC's 2025 plans.
