The Blood of Dawnwalker: A Dark Fantasy RPG Unveiled

Rebel Wolves, a studio comprised of former CD Projekt Red developers, recently showcased their upcoming open-world dark fantasy action RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, at a game reveal event. This narrative-driven experience plunges players into the role of Coen, a Dawnwalker – a unique being existing between humanity and vampirism – in the fictional 14th-century world of Vale Sangora.
Coen's journey is fraught with peril. He must save his family within a 30-day/night timeframe from the clutches of Brencis, an ancient vampire who has plunged Vale Sangora into chaos. While the game features a time constraint, the developers emphasize a flexible gameplay pace allowing for extensive exploration. Coen possesses unique abilities, showcasing superhuman agility and hints of occult magic in the reveal trailer.

Addressing fan questions on their Discord server, Rebel Wolves clarified the nature of Dawnwalkers: they are not simply hybrids, but a distinct entity. The game's magic system, while present, will be grounded in the occult, focusing on rituals, amulets, and summonings rather than flashy spellcasting.

The Blood of Dawnwalker promises a "narrative sandbox" experience. Players will have significant agency in shaping the story, with multiple paths to achieve the central goal of saving Coen's family. This nonlinear approach will result in a dynamic world influenced by player choices. While multiplayer is absent to maintain the single-player focus, the game will feature romanceable characters from diverse races, including uriashi and kobolds.
Currently, there's no confirmed release date, but The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
