Atomfall Prepares Gameplay Showcase Leading Up to March Launch

Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments, renowned for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in a 1960s England ravaged by nuclear disaster. This departure from their usual third-person action titles promises a compelling experience for fans of post-apocalyptic survival games.

Initially revealed at Xbox's Summer Game Fest, Atomfall initially flew under the radar amidst other major announcements. However, its inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass on launch day quickly piqued gamer interest.

A recently released seven-minute gameplay trailer provides a substantial look at the game. The trailer establishes the setting: a bleak, alternate 1960s England, where players will navigate quarantine zones, desolate villages, and abandoned research bunkers. The atmosphere evokes comparisons to titles like Fallout and STALKER. Survival will depend on resource scavenging, crafting, and combat against robotic and cultist adversaries, alongside the dangers of the environment itself.

The trailer showcases a selection of weaponry, including a cricket bat (melee), a revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle – all upgradeable. Crafting plays a key role, allowing players to create healing items and combat tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Furthermore, the game features a skill tree system with four branches: melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning, allowing players to customize their character's abilities through unlockable skills.

Atomfall launches March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass day one. Rebellion has hinted at a further, more in-depth video showcasing additional details in the near future.
