Annapurna Pictures has assured partners of its commitment to ongoing projects and its continued involvement in interactive entertainment. Megan Ellison stated their intention to pursue a more integrated approach across various media.

The situation leaves numerous indie developers in a precarious position, uncertain about the future of their partnerships with Annapurna Interactive. Concerns exist regarding the fulfillment of existing agreements.

Remedy Entertainment, a partner on Control 2, clarified that their agreement is with Annapurna Pictures and that they are self-publishing Control 2. This statement, made by communications director Thomas Puha on X (formerly Twitter), offers some reassurance.

Annapurna's Response

Annapurna Interactive has appointed Hector Sanchez, a co-founder, as its new president. Sources suggest Sanchez has pledged to honor existing contracts and replace departing staff. This follows a previously announced restructuring, including the departure of Gary, Deborah Mars, and Nathan Vella. The company's reorganization leaves many questions unanswered about the future of its indie game publishing.
