AFK Journey boasts a diverse roster of characters, making it challenging to determine which heroes are worth investing in. This tier list, updated for November 2024, ranks characters based on versatility, overall performance in PvE, Dream Realm, and PvP. Remember, most characters are viable, but some excel in high-level endgame content.

S-Tier: Top-Tier Heroes

This tier houses the must-have characters. Lily May, a recent addition, is a game-changer for Wilder teams, excelling in damage and utility. Thoran remains the best F2P tank, while Reinier is a crucial support for both PvE and PvP. Koko, Smokey & Meerky, and Odie are essential supports for various game modes. Eironn, with Damien and Arden, forms a dominant Arena team. Tasi provides excellent crowd control for the Wilder faction, and Harak, a powerful Hypogean/Celestial warrior, is a significant addition.

A-Tier: Excellent Choices

This tier features strong characters with high potential. Lyca and Vala excel with the Haste stat. Antandra is a solid alternative tank to Thoran. Viperian complements Graveborn teams, while Alsa offers strong DPS and synergizes well with Eironn. Phraesto, a durable tank, requires significant investment. Ludovic is a valuable Graveborn healer, particularly effective with Talene. Cecia, while still a capable Marksman, has seen a slight decrease in overall value. Sonja provides significant boosts to the Lightborne faction.

B-Tier: Solid, but Replaceable

These characters are functional but often outshone by higher-tier alternatives. Valen and Brutus are excellent early-game DPS options. Granny Dahnie serves as a decent substitute tank. Arden and Damien are PvP mainstays but less useful in other modes. Florabelle and Soren are decent additions but not essential. Korin's effectiveness has decreased.

C-Tier: Early-Game Options

These characters are generally outclassed quickly. While useful in the early game, they should be replaced with higher-tier options as soon as possible. Parisa, despite a powerful AoE attack, is quickly surpassed by better alternatives.
