Stellar Blade's recent update, introducing a highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, unfortunately, also brought some critical bugs. However, developer Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
Patch 1.009, while delivering exciting new content, caused game-breaking issues. Players reported softlocks during a specific main quest in an earlier dungeon, preventing progression. Further issues included game crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie camera and improper rendering of new cosmetic items on Eve.
Shift Up advises players to avoid forcing quest progression and wait for the hotfix. Attempting to bypass the issue might lead to permanent softlocks, even after the patch is released.
NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements
The update includes the much-anticipated NieR: Automata collaboration. The developers highlighted the significant inspiration NieR: Automata provided, emphasizing the collaborative spirit between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro. Eleven exclusive collaboration items are available from Emil, who has established a shop within Stellar Blade's world.
The addition of Photo Mode fulfills a long-standing player request. This feature allows players to pose Eve and her companions for customized snapshots. New photo challenges further enhance this functionality.
Along with Photo Mode, four new outfits for Eve and a new accessory (unlocked after completing a specific ending) altering Tachy Mode's appearance have been added. A "No Ponytail" option provides additional customization. Other improvements include lip-sync support for six additional languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes for a smoother gaming experience.
