Assassin’s Creed Shadows Ramps Up Release
One Piece Actor Mackenyu Arata Joins Assassin’s Creed Shadows as Gennojo
As the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows approaches in March, Ubisoft has announced an exciting addition to the game's cast: Mackenyu, the acclaimed actor known for his role as Roronoa Zoro in Netflix's adaptation of the iconic anime "One Piece." Mackenyu will lend his voice to the character Gennojo in both Japanese and English, bringing his talent to Ubisoft's highly anticipated RPG set in Feudal Japan.
Gennojo, as described by Ubisoft, is a pivotal figure in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. He is a "charming, reckless, and deeply conflicted" individual, driven by guilt to dismantle a corrupt system. Ubisoft elaborates that Gennojo is a "flirtatious rogue and a trickster," characterized by his wit, deceit, and swagger. His ultimate goal is to bring down corruption, risking everything, including his own life, in the process. Despite his tough exterior, Gennojo possesses a strong sense of justice, particularly when it comes to aiding the poor and elderly.
While the exact timing of Gennojo's introduction in the game remains undisclosed, it's clear that he will play a significant role in the game's missions. Mackenyu has revealed that Gennojo is part of the "Shinobi League," a group within the game. Players will have the opportunity to "basically recruit" Gennojo, making him a valuable companion on their journey through Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Stay tuned for more updates and announcements from Ubisoft as the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows draws near.
