Helldivers 2: Truth Enforcers Warbond Arrives October 31st, 2024
Arrowhead Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment have unveiled the Truth Enforcers Warbond, a premium content drop for Helldivers 2, packed with new weaponry, armor, and cosmetics. This Halloween-timed release offers a significant arsenal upgrade, allowing players to embody Super Earth's official Truth Enforcers.
The Warbond operates similarly to a battle pass, utilizing earned Medals to unlock items. Unlike typical battle passes, it's evergreen; once purchased (for 1,000 Super Credits via the Acquisitions Center), access remains permanent.
The Truth Enforcers Warbond emphasizes the Ministry of Truth's ideals, providing players with advanced weaponry and armor. New additions include:
- PLAS-15 Loyalist Plasma Pistol: A versatile sidearm with semi-automatic and charged shot options.
- SMG-32 Reprimand: A rapid-firing submachine gun ideal for close-quarters combat.
- SG-20 Halt: A shotgun capable of switching between stun and armor-piercing rounds.
- UF-16 Inspector Armor: Sleek, light armor with red accents and the "Proof of Faultless Virtue" cape. Features the Unflinching perk.
- UF-50 Bloodhound Armor: Medium armor with red accents and the "Pride of the Whistleblower" cape. Features the Unflinching perk.
Beyond weaponry and armor, the Warbond includes new banners, cosmetic patterns for hellpods, exosuits, and Pelican-1, and the "At Ease" emote. A new booster, "Dead Sprint," allows continued sprinting and diving even after stamina depletion, at the cost of health.
Addressing Player Base Concerns:
Despite a strong initial launch with 458,709 concurrent Steam players (excluding PS5), Helldivers 2 experienced a player base decline, largely attributed to initial account linking restrictions. While the concurrent player count has fluctuated, the Truth Enforcers Warbond aims to reignite interest and bring back players to the fight for Super Earth.
The substantial content of this Warbond promises to offer a compelling reason for both returning and new players to experience the intense cooperative gameplay of Helldivers 2.
