Harrison Ford remains unfazed by the critical and commercial failure of "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," shrugging it off with a candid "s**t happens." Despite the film's estimated $100 million loss at the box office, Ford expressed to The Wall Street Journal Magazine that he is still content with his decision to revisit the iconic character. "When [Indy] had suffered the consequences of the life that he had to live, I wanted one more chance to pick him up and shake the dust off his ass and stick him out there, bereft of some of his vigor, to see what happened," Ford explained. "I’m still happy I made that movie."
Undeterred by the setback, Ford has now stepped into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking on the role of Thaddeus Ross in the upcoming "Captain America: Brave New World." He steps into the shoes of the late William Hurt, and his character is set to transform into the Red Hulk. Ford admitted that he joined the MCU without knowing about this dramatic plot twist, as he had not seen the script for "Brave New World" at the time of his decision. His motivation? Purely the allure of having a good time. "Why not? I saw enough Marvels to see actors that I admired having a good time," Ford remarked. "I didn’t really know that at the end I would turn into the Red Hulk. Well, it’s like life. You only get so far in the kit until the last page of the instructions is missing."
Set to release on February 14, "Captain America: Brave New World" will be one of the shortest entries in the MCU and marks the first time Anthony Mackie will lead as Captain America, replacing Chris Evans' Steve Rogers. The film also promises to introduce deep-cut characters from Marvel lore, including The Leader, a tease from the second MCU film, "The Incredible Hulk."
