Enhancing your combat prowess is crucial, and that's where upgrading your weapons and accessories comes into play. Upgrading not only boosts your weapon's base stats but also allows the addition of modules that can significantly enhance your effectiveness in battle.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered
Upgrading your weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered is a straightforward process once you reach Level 002 Code Clearance in the main story. At this point, CODE 2 Sinners unlock the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. Head over to the Weapon Development Facility to manage and upgrade your weapons.
The upgrade process requires specific resources and Entitlement Points, which you've earned through your efforts. You can reduce these costs by recruiting a Citizen, each with a different Facility Manager Aptitude that affects the reduction rate. It might seem complex at first glance, but you'll find the system intuitive once you dive in.
Before you commit to an upgrade, you'll be shown a preview of the stat changes your weapon will undergo. The Weapon Development Facility also lets you experiment with Elements and Modules, enhancing your weapon's versatility. To take your weapon to the next Grade, you'll need to purchase the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.
Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?
In the early stages of Freedom Wars Remastered, the missions don't often reward you with high-Grade weapons. While you can buy weapons and other combat items from Zakka in The Warren, most are limited to Grade Level 1. This makes upgrading your weapons almost a necessity.
One of the CODE 3 Exams requires you to claim higher Grade Development Facility Permits, enabling you to upgrade any weapon to your liking. You can then keep using your upgraded weapon and donate any Low-Grade weapons you find during missions, which not only reduces your sentence but also grants you additional Entitlement Points.
The first weapon upgrade in the Weapon Development Facility also unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements tied to the upgrading system. This adds an extra layer of appeal for trophy hunters. The significant damage difference between weapons of different Grades makes the time investment in upgrading well worth it.
Later in the game, you'll unlock the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, further expanding your options for enhancing your combat capabilities.
