If you're a fan of Elden Ring and enjoy dominating battles with heavy Strength-based weapons, then the Raider class in Nightreign might just be your new favorite. This class is designed for those who relish the thrill of dealing massive damage and breaking enemy posture with powerful, charged attacks. Check out the video below to see the Raider in action.

While the Guardian class also boasts high health and a penchant for large weapons, it leans more towards defense with a shield as its starting weapon and an ultimate ability that mitigates damage for the entire party. In contrast, the Raider is an offensive juggernaut, perfect for players who want to focus on dealing devastating blows.

The cornerstone of the Raider's arsenal is the Retaliate ability. At first glance, it might seem modest—just two stomps dealing physical and poise damage. However, the true strength of Retaliate lies in the Raider's passive ability, which prevents knockback during its execution. This means you can absorb nearly any attack without interruption, and if you manage to soak a significant hit, the second stomp transforms into a powerful punch capable of staggering even the mightiest foes.

The Raider's ultimate ability, Totem Stela, further amplifies its offensive capabilities. By slamming the ground, the Raider summons a large totem that erupts, inflicting substantial damage to surrounding enemies. This ultimate not only deals heavy damage but also offers strategic advantages: the totem is climbable, providing a safe haven or a vantage point for you and your teammates. Additionally, it grants a damage buff to everyone nearby, making it a crucial tool for coordinated team plays.

Starting with the Raider's Greavtaxe, which deals fire damage and comes equipped with the "Endure" skill, the Raider is well-equipped to absorb and counter enemy attacks. As you progress through the game, seeking out larger strength-scaling weapons will enhance your Raider's devastating potential.

Among all the classes in Nightreign, the Raider has been the most enjoyable for me. It's particularly well-suited for one-on-one combat, fitting perfectly with the class's unique Remembrances, which involve gladiatorial-style boss fights. This adds a thrilling twist to the gameplay, setting the Raider apart as a truly engaging class.
