Warner Bros.' previously shelved film, Coyote vs. Acme, might soon hit the screens after all, as reported by Deadline. The Los Angeles-based independent film company, Ketchup Entertainment, is reportedly in deep negotiations to acquire the movie. Although the deal isn't finalized yet, a theatrical release could be on the cards for 2026 if it goes through.

Announced in 2022, Coyote vs. Acme is based on Ian Frazier's 1990 New Yorker article of the same name. Co-written by James Gunn, the film stars Will Forte and John Cena. Originally slated for a mid-2023 release on Max, the completed film was unexpectedly shelved, sparking a dedicated campaign to save it.

PlayKetchup Entertainment has a history of rescuing films from similar fates, most notably with Warner Bros.' *The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie*. They secured its theatrical release in the US, marking it as the first fully animated Looney Tunes film to hit theaters. IGN's review praised it as a "laugh-out-loud riot."

Ketchup Entertainment's portfolio also includes Hellboy: The Crooked Man and Robert Rodriguez's thriller Hypnotic, starring Ben Affleck. They also co-produced Michael Mann's 2023 Ferrari biopic.
