Maximus: The Premier International Draughts (10x10 Checkers) App!
Experience international draughts (or 10x10 checkers) like never before on your tablet or smartphone with Maximus, the 2011 Dutch Open and Olympic computer draughts champion. Available for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch, Maximus provides a challenging and engaging gameplay experience for players of all skill levels.
In 2012, Maximus competed against former World Champion Alexander Schwarzman, resulting in a close defeat (five draws and one loss). More recently, Maximus achieved a third-place finish in the (unofficial) 2019 World Championship Computer Draughts competition, running on a desktop computer – a more powerful platform than mobile devices. Despite this, Maximus remains a formidable opponent on your tablet or phone!
Whether you're a seasoned expert or a complete beginner, Maximus offers a range of difficulty levels to suit your needs. Begin with a level designed to teach the rules, where Maximus makes random moves. Then, progress through ten training levels, from beginner to expert, before challenging Maximus with longer thinking times. Analyze your games with Maximus to identify areas for improvement and learn from your mistakes.
Beyond gameplay, Maximus functions as a draughts travel set, a notation booklet, and even a helpful substitute player in competitions.
