Сценарий фильма будет написан писателем-режиссером Nightcrawler Дэном Гилрой, который строит на первоначальном проекте от Top Gun: Maverick сценарист Эрик Уоррен Сингер. Miami Vice , созданный Энтони Йерковичем и продюсированный Майклом Манном, пробежал в течение пяти сезонов с 1984 по 1989 год.
