Según los informes, Joseph Kosinski dirigirá una nueva adaptación de la icónica serie de policía de NBC, Miami Vice , para Universal, según The Hollywood Reporter. El guión de la película será escrito por el escritor y director de Nightcrawler , Dan Gilroy, quien se basa en un borrador inicial de Top Gun: el guionista Maverick Eric Warren Singer. Miami Vice , creado por Anthony Yerkovich y producido por Michael Mann, se realizó durante cinco temporadas de 1984 a 1989.
