Zynga Unveils Letter Lock Feature in Words With Friends

Zynga has introduced an exciting new feature called Letter Lock for its beloved game, Words With Friends, fulfilling the long-awaited wishes of many players for a solo mode. Along with this, the game is receiving several other updates. Let's dive into all the details.

What’s Letter Lock in Words With Friends?

Letter Lock introduces a captivating single-player daily puzzle to Words With Friends. Unlike the traditional word typing in games like Wordle, Letter Lock challenges you to slide columns of letters up and down to form real words in the entry row. As you successfully create words, more columns unlock, allowing you to craft even longer words until you reach the puzzle's word-length target. Each incorrect guess will deplete your hearts, and running out of them means the end of the puzzle. Though different from Wordle, Letter Lock shares a similar essence of quick, clever, and daily word challenges. Get a sneak peek of Letter Lock in the trailer below.

The Game Is Trying to Keep Things Fresh

According to Yaron Leyvand, Zynga's Executive Vice President of Mobile Games, the introduction of Letter Lock is a direct response to the desires of the game's long-time players. Adding innovative ways to play is essential for keeping the game vibrant and expanding its community.

In addition to Letter Lock, Zynga is launching a Spring into Words event, packed with new daily puzzles and challenges. You can enjoy solo play with modes like Guess Word and Crosswords, alongside spring-themed rewards, new Tile Styles, and other special events. If you're passionate about words, don't miss out—download the game from the Google Play Store.
