Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher behind Elden Ring, has partnered with Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio founded by former Witcher 3 developers, for the global release of their debut action RPG, Dawnwalker.
Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Team Up for Dawnwalker
More Dawnwalker Details Coming Soon
This collaboration, announced earlier this week, sees Bandai Namco taking on worldwide publishing duties for Dawnwalker, the first installment in a planned action RPG saga. Launching in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox, Dawnwalker is a story-driven AAA title set in a dark fantasy medieval Europe, designed for mature audiences. Further details are promised in the coming months.
Founded in 2022 in Warsaw, Rebel Wolves aims to redefine the RPG experience with a narrative-focused approach. Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, "Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe's commitment to RPGs and their willingness to embrace new IPs aligns perfectly with our vision. We share a passion for narrative-driven games, and we're thrilled to collaborate on bringing Dawnwalker to players globally."
Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, Bandai Namco's VP of business development, highlighted the significance of this partnership, calling Dawnwalker a valuable addition to their portfolio and emphasizing its importance to their Western market strategy.
Leading the creative direction is Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a CD Projekt Red veteran and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, who joined Rebel Wolves earlier this year. Co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, a nine-year CDPR veteran, confirmed that Dawnwalker will establish a new franchise. The game's scope is anticipated to be comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, offering a non-linear narrative with multiple player choices and replayability.
Tomaszkiewicz previously stated, "Our goal is to create an experience rich with choices and opportunities for experimentation on subsequent playthroughs. Working with this talented team to achieve this is a privilege, and we can't wait to share our progress with everyone."
