The release of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been pushed back once again, with the new release date set for October 2025. This latest delay, announced in a recent game update video from publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, marks a slight shift from the previously anticipated launch in the first half of 2025. Despite the delay, there is good news: the game is complete, and the focus is now on enhancing its stability, performance, and fixing any remaining bugs.
“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” stated Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”
The update video also brought some encouraging news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. Fans can look forward to an "evolved role" for the character Fabien in the storyline. However, the frequency of updates will decrease moving forward, as announced on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.
Those familiar with the game's development history know that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced numerous delays over the past decade. Initially announced in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs with a planned launch in Q1 2020, the game saw its first delay to late 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit Labs. In a significant change, Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room in 2023, targeting a 2024 release. Now, after another delay, fans are set to experience the game in October 2025.
While it remains uncertain if Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will finally captivate players this fall, The Chinese Room seems optimistic. Looking ahead, Paradox Interactive has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, a different team would take on the development of Bloodlines 3.
