Urban Legends' Sequel Emerges, Blending Reality and the Digital Realm

Playism's upcoming release, Urban Legend Hunters 2: Double, offers a unique blend of FMV and augmented reality gameplay. Players step into the shoes of an investigator probing the disappearance of a missing YouTuber specializing in urban legends.

The game features a cast of characters – Rain, Shou, and Tangtang – who claim to be part of the missing YouTuber's team. The mystery revolves around the legend of the "double," or doppelganger, a being that can replace another without detection.

Urban Legend Hunters 2: Double innovatively combines FMV sequences with AR investigation. Players use their phone's camera to explore 3D environments, with the FMV footage overlaid onto the real-world setting. This unusual approach, while unconventional, is undeniably creative.

While the game's concept and execution are intriguing, expectations should be managed. It's unlikely to be a sophisticated psychological thriller. However, the inherent cheesiness often associated with FMV games, particularly in horror, might be a significant part of its charm.
